CORE provides over 8,100 ft2 of office space to let as well as conference and meeting rooms. For more information on the renewable energy technologies: see: www.centreofrenewableenergy.co.uk
Using our extensive knowledge of sustainability and renewable energy technology, we constructed CORE in 2010 with the aim of delivering a low carbon development.
Using sustainable construction techniques and incorporating rainwater harvesting combined with the latest green technology we are providing occupiers with a high quality development at low environmental impact.
The development is surrounded by Willow plantations which are harvested as wood chips for use in the district heating centre for the production of heating and hot water, as well as being used in local power stations to provide electricity.
At CORE we have incorporated a wind turbine and photovoltaics for electricity, combined with ground and air source heat pumps and a wood pellet biomass boiler for heating and hot water.
Not only does the development utilise the latest technologies but it measures them in real time in order to compare their efficiency, cost, carbon saving and outputs. This delivers valuable information to assess the amount of energy consumed and carbon footprint savings delivered due to the onsite provision of renewable energy sources to inform our future developments.
